The credit bureaus prefer to receive each resident’s Social Security Number (“SSN”) because this identifier makes it easier for them to match rent payment data to the resident’s underlying credit record.

If a property manager cannot provide Esusu with a resident’s SSN, then they must provide the resident’s date of birth, first name, middle name, last name, phone number, and accurate address.
